The Dog in Front of You: What We Miss When We Look at Behaviour Without Looking at the Body.
What if we're missing what's right in front of us?
The Dog in Front of You is moving closer to print...
We wait for lameness.
We wait for behaviour to change.
We wait until a dog struggles with something they once found easy.
But what if their body has been telling us something isn't right long before those obvious signs appear? What if we've simply been missing the clues?
The hard work of writing is done—I am currently deep in polishing the final 4th draft edits of my upcoming book!
Drawing on decades of experience in canine conformation, movement, physical rehabilitation and behaviour, this book challenges some of the long-held assumptions about how we observe and understand dogs. It explores the often-overlooked relationship between a dog's physical structure, function and behaviour, and why even the happiest, most enthusiastic and beautifully behaved dogs may be experiencing physical difficulties that go unrecognised.
This isn't a training manual or a guide to diagnosing medical conditions. It's a book that asks us to question what we've come to accept as normal, to look beyond behaviour, and to consider the dog as a whole. Because we shouldn't have to wait for a dog's body to shout before we start listening.
Be among the first to join the movement. I'm preparing to launch this book, and I want our professional community heavily involved from the ground up.
